AZIBS Students & Teachers of the Year
Every year since 2014, the AZIBS community comes together to honor outstanding students and educators from all four IB programmes. This statewide celebration recognizes the dedication, creativity and international-mindedness that define IB learning and teaching in Arizona.
The honorees are selected as individuals who exemplify the spirit of IB education by the AZIBS Governing Board, a diverse group of IB coordinators and leaders from across the state. The process involves careful and consensus-driven review process.
The annual AZIBS celebration serves as a joyful reminder of the transformative power of IB learning and the vibrant, interconnected community that continues to make Arizona’s IB schools thrive.
The Students
All IB students within Arizona schools are encouraged to apply. They must respond to essay prompts exploring their IB journey, including how they have grown as learners, thinkers and change-makers through experiences both inside and beyond the classroom.
The Educators
After being nominated by their school colleagues, educators engaged in a reflective application process, sharing insights about how they inspire learners, promote the IB Learner Profile, and build transferable skills through inquiry, agency, and action across disciplines and communities.
